Meet The Team
Editor-in-Chief: Millie Kidson
Millie is in her fourth year at UoL, studying an MA in Politics and the Mass Media. During her time here she has been involved with English Society, Debating Society, Student Council and LSMedia, where she was a News Editor for 18 months before taking the role of Editor-in-Chief. She is a lover of all things politics, has written for a local newspaper and runs three blogs. Originally from Gloucestershire, she is happiest in her wellies, but loves Liverpool for its live music, art and cocktails. Her weaknesses are old Penguin books, cameras and a good cup of tea.
News Editor: James Margeson
James is a 4th year geology student from Cumbria. He likes hill walking, punk music and socialism.
Millie will also be editing this section
Arts Editors: Simal Patel and Amy Downes
Simal is studying for an MA in Renaissance and 18th Century Literature. She loves how cultured Liverpool is and intends to take full advantage of it in her final year in the city. Originally from Shakespeare’s County, she enjoys having her head in a good book or watching an engaging play.
Features & Comment Editors: Charlotte Nichols and Spencer Montagu
Charlotte studies Politics and is a current Trustee of Liverpool Guild of Students. She likes lots of things, mostly dumb things like social justice and trade unionism, but also important things like cat videos on Youtube, gin and football. She blogs at charlottenichols.blogspot.co.uk, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Charlotte also edits the Politics section.
Spencer is a 3rd year philosophy student who has lived most of his life in Liverpool.
Fashion Editor: Terence Conchie
Terence is a 21 year old third year English and French student. Born and raised in Liverpool and a self-confessed walking pay day for the male grooming and clothing industries.
Beauty Editor: Amiee Harrison-Armstrong
Undergraduate student at the University of Liverpool, studying Communication and Business Studies, along with a Business Certificate in Spanish. Beauty Editor and Head of Marketing. Irish dance teacher. Social media butterfly. Love all beauty products, but most of all bronzer. Gluten free dieter, for health not weight loss. Wouldn’t live anywhere else but Liverpool….for now!
Sports Editor: Michael Hincks
Michael is in his final year of studying English at Liverpool and tends to spend too much time watching Sky Sports and quiz shows and not enough time reading what’s on the syllabus (if only there was a module on knowing all 50 U.S. states…). He is an aspiring journalist who has had work experience down at Empire magazine in London and up at the Southport Visiter. Currently new to twitter – and all it’s advantages – he is quickly learning that proper grammar and punctuation #doesntseemtomatter
Technology Editor: Patrick D’arcy
A 2nd year Psychology student at the University of Liverpool, Patrick spends most of his time either playing games, stumbling through the internet or at the guild rushing around doing things (usually with pint in hand). London-born, Patrick is also involved in the LSFilm society, the Fencing society and the RPG society. He hopes to be a Psychology Researcher, but not before travelling the four corners of the world.
Travel Editor: Georgia Unsworth
Georgia is a second year English student. She is interested in all things Scandinavian, Catalonian and Italian, travelling and a very diverse selection of music. She also works at her beloved Manchester United as some what of an antithesis for choosing to go to University in Liverpool.
Food and Drink Editor: Tor Ince
Half-British, half-Taiwanese, Tor was raised on a diet of dim sum and Grimm’s Fairy Tales. A second year in Philosophy, she speaks six languages and has a thing for fusion food.
Science Co-Editors: Pratiksha Paudyal and Toby Brown
Pratiksha is a 20 year old student studying for a Masters in Physics at the University of Liverpool. Loves living in Liverpool due to its busy nature, clubs and culture. Will be writing about all things science particularly physics and astronomy. Loves sushi, going to gigs/the cinema, and has a slight(ly huge) addiction to eBay.
Aspiring writer and purveyor of science, Toby is studying for a Masters in Astrophysics at Liverpool University. He has written for several scientific publications and runs a (much neglected) blog. Originally from Manchester, he is happiest when at Old Trafford, but loves living in Liverpool because of its live music, theatre and good pubs.

Politics Editor: Charlotte Nichols
The Web Team: Sam Firth
Sam is from near Huddersfield, and is currently a third year BSc Geography student. He is responsible for the LSMedia website and has previously administered a website to save his high school from closure; fortunately the school was saved but unfortunately the website has now dropped offline! In his spare time Sam is a qualified dingy sailing instructor, who
works/volunteers for the scouts. He is also the treasure and communications secretary of the University Of Liverpool Sailing Club.
