Firework displays to be held at Sefton and Newsham Park

“Remember, remember the fifth of November. The gunpowder treason and plot.”

Guy Fawkes day: when conspirators failed to blow up Parliament more than 500 years ago. Today, the event is an observance, a day of bonfire and fireworks. A day of celebration.

For the occasion, Liverpool City Council has announced firework shows in two locations: Sefton Park and Newsham Park. It will be held on Monday the 5th of November 2012, starting at 7.30 p.m. The shows will last approximately 2o minutes.

If you plan on going to Sefton Park, you could head there by taking the 699 Bus from the University of Liverpool campus to Derby or Carnatic halls and walk, or you could get a cab. You could also drive there but there will be only limited parking available. If you live off campus in one of the halls, then you have no excuse not to walk to Sefton Park!

It should be a night to remember. So why not head down to either locations this coming Monday and see the night sky light up with some spectacular fireworks and join in the celebration?
