Unbeaten Fielding to fight for English Title

Two Liverpool fighters, Rocky Fielding and Carl Dilks, will face off on Saturday 6th October for the vacant English Super-Middleweight Championship live on Sky Sports, as part of the ‘Rocky and the Prizefighters’ bill at the Liverpool Olympia.

Fielding, a previous Prizefighter winner with an unbeaten record of 11-0-0, had been scheduled to fight Wayne Reed for the Central Area belt, though this announcement will provide the popular fighter with a perfect opportunity to increase his growing profile. In his last outing back in July, the 25-year-old handed out a stunning first round knockout against the Hungarian Ferenc Hafner.

Although Dilks (16-5-0) will come into the bout as the underdog, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has said that there is no doubt that this will be a tough bout. Both fighters have said on Twitter that there will be no ‘bad-mouthing’ from either man prior to the fight, which for me makes a pleasant change from the sometimes unnecessary aspect of the sport.

Luckily I got my tickets for what is set to be a great night of boxing early through Rocky’s father, Tosh, as this Matchroom production is an early sell out.
