Top Ten: Back to Uni

The beginning of term is upon us and this means the updating of our bank balances with student loans which in turn means it time for a whole new back to Uni wardrobe. LSMedia has put together our top ten must have items to ensure  that when you are strutting around Abercromby Square you will be catwalk ready.

1. The Pastel Collection, Cambridge Satchel Company, £115

Satchels have been back in fashion since the geek chic look made it appearance a few years back on London catwalks. The Cambridge Satchel Company offers a variety of satchel shapes and colours. For an extra charge you can also have your initials printed on the top for extra geek chic glamour.

2. Vaudeville & Burlesque Ikat Print Dress, Urban Outfitters £85

This dress is great due to its ability to switch from a day to an evening outfit with little effort. Freshers week often sees you attending the welcome classes and ending up at the closest bar making new friends and interacting with your classmates. Keep this dress relaxed with boot wedges and some quirky jewellery or style it up with high heels and an embellished bag.

3. Skinny Jacquard Trousers, Zara £35.99

Everybody knows that in the current climate having a degree is not enough to get you that dream job, instead employers are looking for work experience, and these are the perfect work experience pant. Smart but still fashionable with the jacquard detail, these pants will ensure you look extremely professional as well as ensuring comfort whilst you are most likely busy tidying the office.

4. Studded Spike Army Jacket, Topshop £65

The Army look surfaces every Autumn and it’s back again for this season but taking a much harder edge with embellishment. Throw over a girly dress to create a juxtaposition of sweet and hard or go guns blazing for the tough-nut look and pair with Dr Marten boots and denim cut off shorts. Either way it’s a great jacket for the Autumn period.

5. Dark and Stormy Boot, Whistles £150

Whilst these boots may be a little on the pricey side don’t forget that Whistles offers 10% student discount! Simple but tough is the look of these boots, ideal for pairing with printed dresses and tights but also jeans and a t-shirt for a more laid back look.

6. Wells Crew, Aubin and Wills £80

We all know it gets a little windy in Liverpool so this jumper is great for keeping you warm and snug. The texture ensures this isn’t just another plain jumper but rather a must have Autumn piece. Available in Teal or Burgundy either colour is ideal to go with pretty much anything.

7. Liberty Floral Notepad, John Lewis £10

Stationary is a great love of the LSMedia Fashion team purely for the hundreds of stationary possibilities there are. These Liberty printed notepads from John Lewis are sophisticated but still cute. At only £10 it’s a great addition to any outfit.

8. Pintuck Yoke Embroidered Shirt, Warehouse £40

A plain white shirt is must have for every wardrobe. The detailed embroidery of this shirt adds a new twist to a classic piece. Best worn with a pair of jeans and cute flats for a simple yet fashionable look.

9. Henrietta Pink Patent Croc Ballet Flat, French Sole £120

French Sole flats are definitely an investment piece due to their price but I guarantee they last forever! The Crocodile Print is really popular with many designers so this is a great way to include the print in your outfit if you aren’t quite loving the full on crocodile look.

10. MOTO Blue Supersoft Jeans, Topshop £38

Jeans are a staple to any wardrobe but with the invention of leggings the thought of being constricted in tough denim is quite simply unbearable. Made of a supersoft material these jeans fall into the jegging category and are great to just throw on when you require a little extra comfort. Available in nearly every colour what more could we ask for?

Well that’s LSMedia’s Top Ten for Welcome Week, hopefully there’s at least one item that has taken your fancy. Happy Welcome Week!
