The editor’s letter
Good evening everyone!
Hopefully you’ve all had a good week in lectures, especially those of you who are new to uni! For you, we have tips for how to make friends with your neighbours and save money on those all important books and travel.
Last week saw plenty of events on campus, including International Peace Day, the launch of Demo 2012 and Liverpool Debating’s first public debate of the year. Around the city the Biennial is taking over many venues and today I headed to Bold Street Festival to take in a little culture. It was great to see people out and about despite the rain – I’m a firm believer in getting involved in all that Liverpool and the Guild have to offer during our time here.
Speaking of getting involved, the Eco-Age Frugal Challenge is coming to LSMedia and we need you to get on board! I’m excited to take on the challenge with a little sartorial guidance from Terence!
I’m a huge fan of all things autumn, and with rainy days forcing us indoors the autumn television schedule has been keeping me cheerful. Check out Liam’s review of The Thick of It and Ian’s Top Five Moments from Amy Pond (I still haven’t quite recovered from last night’s Doctor Who!). Ian completed 1,001 articles with LSMedia this weekend – congratulations on an incredible achievement and we all wish you good luck in the future!
This week there is lots to join in with on campus. The life forums return for another year and will begin with Guild Life tomorrow. 24 Festival Drums start their training this week and Art Society will be holding their first life drawing session on Tuesday, when Film Society will be showing Rear Window. These are just some of the society events on offer, and if you haven’t yet found one for you check out the LGoS list here.
Lots of you have been getting involved with LSMedia which is fantastic. Training will be held over the next few weeks so look out for emails! If you’re not yet on the mailing list or need help with anything, get in touch on email@example.com
Have a great week!
