Liverpool Playhouse Announce Cast For This Year’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Panto.

The end of another fantastic year is fast approaching for the team at the Playhouse Theatre and to celebrate a great year, Liverpool’s legendary Rock ‘n’ Roll panto will return for another giant adventure. The Playhouse Theatre is delighted to announce that audience favourites Adam Keast and Francis Tucker will be returning and joined by Aretha Ayeh, Marrianne Benedict, Carla Freeman, Matthew Ganley, Toby Lord and Griffin Stevens. Jack and the Beanstalk: These Shoots are Made for Walking, is at the Williamson Square venue from Friday 30th November 2012 to Saturday 19th January.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll panto is great fun for all ages and this year’s outing promises music, mayhem, a sprinkling of water and some magic beans as writers Sarah A. Nixon and Mark Chatterton conjure up a world of fairies, beanstalks and giants.

Adam Keast and Francis Tucker pair up once more to bring their unique double-act to thrill and soak the crowd in equal measure! Jack and the Beanstalk also marks Adam’s 10th Rock ‘n’ Roll panto for the Everyman and Playhouse.

The dynamic duo will be joined by Marianne Benedict who will play Fairy Bubbles. Benedict comes fresh from playing the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz at London’s Palladium and has appeared in Dirty Dancing and We Will Rock You in the West End.

Rock ‘n’ Roll panto newcomers Toby Lord and Aretha Ayeh will play the lead roles of Jack and Allana.  Toby Lord’s acting credits include Henry V and Aladdin, while Aretha Ayeh has appeared in the Quiet Ones (Hammer Films Productions) and Pendragon (Rose Theatre Kingston).

The cast is completed by Matthew Ganley who recently won Best Studio Performance in the Manchester Theatre Awards for his role as Ken Harcourt in God Wept and the Devil Laughed and by Carla Freeman and Griffin Stevens. Both Carla and Griffin delighted audiences in last year’s superb Playhouse production of Cinderella.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll panto is one of the best excuses to party and have a good time in Liverpool as the old year leads into the new and is a show that shouldn’t be missed.
