LGoS hosts annual Guild Awards

This Wednesday LGoS hosted the annual Guild Awards, attended by both staff and students and joined by Vice Chancellor Professor Sir Howard Newby and NUS President Liam Burns.

The awards celebrate all the hard work put in by students in four categories: University Life, Guild Life, Society Life and Liverpool Life, as well as a set awarded by the Careers and Employability Service.

Professor Sir Howard Newby said that it was a great reminder of all the good things the Guild do, whilst NUS President Liam Burns described LGoS as “one of the best student unions in the country.”

Several NUS Officers also attended including Guild President 2008-2010 Dannie Grufferty. Winners included Liverpool 24 Festival Drums as Best Society and ISOC for Best Fundraising Society.

LGoS also presented their impact report, a look at all the work they’ve been doing this year.
