England faces drought.
Water companies have been warned to prepare for the worst as the lack of rain fall in England from June onwards has resulted in ground water levels falling drastically and dangerously low.
The Environment Agency has commented that even with a rainfall which is on average for the time of year, Southern and Central parts of England face an uncertain future with the drought conditions still residing.
It seems as the tinsel and Christmas tree are placed in the front room, the risk of drought seems to be on everyone’s lips instead of the usual, ’who ate the last mince pie.’
Increasing the levels of water in reservoirs has been due to transferring water from rivers but the government has advised both water companies and the public to plan for next Summer as the rainfall forecast is not looking hopeful.
Evaluations will continue into the chances of a full scale drought next Summer.
